Home is where the family isMonday, March 02, 2009
What is a home?
Is it your mailing address?
When I’m on vacation with my kids,
I get them confused when I say – “Let’s go back home”.
Home is where the family is,
It’s not the physical abode, the bricks or the cement;
Home is where the family gets together,
It’s not where the post man delivers the mail.
Home is where hugs and kisses are shared.
Home is where arguments are settled.
Home is where love flourishes.
Smuggler’s Notch, you’re our home for 12 years now.
The beauty of nature and simplicity of life.
I can only treasure the memories we’ve made
every winter, on the 9th week of every year.
We laughed, we cried.
We worried, we prayed.
We hoped, we were relieved.
We were ill, we healed.
We met new friends,
We learned new tricks.
We packed light,
We “Ben-and Jerry”-ied too much,
But most of all – we “vacationed” our mind, body and soul!
