Happy Anniversary!

Another year passed since we officially said, "I do", And I'm still crazy about my honey. Everyday I wake up and I am thankful for the greatest gift - you! You shower me with love and respect; You take care of me ; You manage to make me laugh even when I’m mad; You console me when I’m sad ..and when I’m totally insane! You’ve given me and the kids a great, fun and “cool” loving home; You’ve taught us new aspects of life almost every single day; You have such a huge heart that you open it for anyone who needs your love and concern; You always manage to be the “rock” when everything falls apart with my family; You are always there for them even when they did not initially open their hearts and minds to you; You love them despite the lunacies they managed to put themselves into. You take us to cool places - even on top of a mountain! You are my personal fashion shopper; You introduced me to fine wine and dining; And you’ve made me feel truly special… ...

One Lovely Blog Award and a Motivation to Be Fit

I received this award from Veronica Lee of Of Mice and RaMen , the sweetest blog-buddy. She's a proud mother of 2 boys from sunny Malaysia. Her posts are just fun, enjoyable and inspiring. If you haven't checked out her blog, please do so. It'll definitely put a smile in your face. I'm passing this award to all my blogger buddies whose blog bring so much joy, laughter and inspiration. And on this same day, I decided to motivate myself to be fit! We all have a very hectic schedule. Most of our day is spent attending to the needs of our family. However, a mom can still take 30-45 minutes a day of “me-time” to stay fit. The number one obstacle in starting to get fit is “how to be motivated”. There are a few things that I do or ask myself: 1) Take a “before” picture. Do you like what you see? 2) Do you feel like you don’t have energy during the day? 3) Do you feel depressed or just “blah” ? 4) Do you like how your clothes fit? If your an...

Feel good? You betcha!

There’s just so much beauty in the world that we can’t feel bad. Just let your imagination go wild. Hold on to your dreams – make the world a better place. Sure there are hurdles – or more like an obstacle course (sometimes ) But that’s just an evidence that we are strong and powerful. Yes, it can be overwhelming at times – but that should just empower you instead of drag you down. Just got back from my 30 minute of “zen-walk” with my honey…and it’s just invigorating that I just wanted to share the moment with all of you. Now, I have to get my body in shape (all those cakes and steak just added a few love-handles ) And do some Hip-hop Abs! Wanna join me in making this day a beginning of a more-fit and jollier moment of our lives? Another holiday, another day without my mom

Someone asked me how come you seem to be calm even when there’s chaos going on? A friend even calls me “Miss Jen Zen” . I don’t know if it’s the state of being calm or maybe it’s just that I seem to be the one who ends up taking charge or making plans on how to remedy a chaotic situation that I can’t allow myself to be panicky. Don’t get me wrong, I panic plenty, especially when it comes to my children. I can’t stand it when things are not in place or when my kids are not having a great time or when their dreams are getting crushed. Oh, and I also feel depressed and sometimes it feels like I’m just a walking zombie. But for whatever reason, I still have to move-on and keep a smile on my face. Last week was my youngest First Communion. It was a great family-and-friends get together party. This week is Mother’s Day and (although there’s some family emergencies going on at this very moment) . I know we’ll still have a fun time at mom’s (honey’s mom’s). But there’s a void that wi...

Look what the rain has brought-in!

The picture on the left was taken Feb 5, 2009. The one on the right was taken today, May 8, 2009. Feb 5, 2009 – I started taking pictures while doing the “ zen-walk ”. The photographs have given me the inspiration to write about what I feel and thought that day. Three months later, here I am! Just like the trees, I feel like new hope and promises are in my horizon. I was so amazed on how vibrant the colors of the leaves are! Maybe all I needed was a TON of rain! (And these past few days ..weeks…it felt like we had to build an ARK. ) After an entire week of enormous rain, the sun finally came out and honey and I were able to do our zen-walk to Barnes and Noble ( about 25 minutes walk to BN; Chai-and-magazine break and then another 25 minutes back home) Three months ago the walk to the woods inspired me to write Simple Pleasures. SIMPLE PLEASURES You’ve seen Robin Leach’s “Lifestyles with the Rich and Famous ”; You probably have the latest electronic gadgets; You probabl...
