Have A Lovely Weekend

It's going to be a lovely spring day in the New York metro area. I hope you can take some time to unplug, walk outside and enjoy the day. Do grab a book or download an eBook and sit under the sun and be in the present. Set aside any anxieties, look up into the clouds because no matter how tough life can be, there’s always something to be thankful for.  Here are some photos of my zenwalk, taken with my iPhone 6+. My son, Michael-Rex, started learning about drone photography. The top photo was one of the first pictures he took. I love that he’s passionate about what he does and that he continues to grow and learn. He’s always traveling around the country. This week, I asked him to send me a photograph every day.  The photo below of Florida is today's inspiration. It’s amazing on when the heart and the brain work together.  Check out his first attempt at turning 360 pano into a virtual tour: VR ...

Summer - set aside time to celebrate life every day

"If you want to be happy, be! The world is but a canvas to our imaginations." - Henry David Thoreau Happy Monday! It was such a beautiful morning! Being outdoors, to feel the wind on your face, to see the peaceful beauty of the blue skies, to hear the happy tunes of the birds singing, to smell the sweet scent of the summer bloom and most of all to know that you're loved.

Snow, Winter Wonderland, Media Noche and the New Year!

Woke up, and drove to the park thinking I can probably squeeze in a last run for the year. Driving towards the park, I noticed a few really dedicated runners all geared up and already running. But not me…it’s just way too icy for me.   So instead I just did my virtual run in my head, grabbed my beat-up Cannon PowerShot digital camera, and clicked away! I just love winter wonderland! I’m not so sure about shoveling all that four feet of snow from this week's snow storm, but I still think snow is beautiful! When I’m on top of a mountain at Smuggler’s Notch, Vermon skiing there’s this feeling I just can’t explain. No one adjective to describe it. And for me, it keeps me in check about my faith, my purpose in life. That’s probably why I love coming here to “my” Park. The tranquility and calmness of a newly snowed-in park – untouched, pristine and serene . It gives me peace, recharges and inspires me to be able to do any task I put my hear...

It's that lovely time of the year!

I love autumn . I can go philosophical about the change of colors, life, inspirations and all that.. But Barney sings it best:     “I like to roll in the leaves, feel the cool breeze      Stuff a scarecrow top to bottom.      And you can call it fall if that's what you please.      But I say I like autumn.      Oh, scoodle whoppa doodle whoppa deedle whoppa deeze.      Our jackets, we're glad we brought 'em.      And you can call it fall if that's what you please.      But I say I like autumn. “ After the sugar shock of Halloween Trick-o-treats, the scent of autumn reminds me of family gatherings and holidays – just sitting in the living room, holding warm ciders or chocolate, logs burning in the fireplace and kitchen filled with comfort food. There's no time to frown.. So keep smiling, everyone :) ...

Wow, it's super hot today!

Sometimes words just don't come easy... My almost 21 year old daughter noticed this bird's nest while she was watering the plants. Can you see the three little baby birds and how their beaks are wide open just waiting.. The mother bird is just nearby...  I wonder what is on her mind.. I wonder if we are interrupting lunch or early dinner... I guess I better leave them alone... My Mom planted these bright and light pink peonies eight years ago. ( Oh how I wish she can touch and smell these) It's going to be a very busy weekend ! Happy Memorial Day weekend! Keep smiling :-)

From going insane...to being in-zen!

Hormones can really mess up your normal mood! And as one gets older, the monthly mood swings are more noticeable. Being aware that you’re short tempered and acting “strange” (as my 9yo says) makes the mood swings more controllable. The past weekend was just remarkably sunny, so I took advantage of Mother Nature’s gift and walked from my town’s main street back to my neighborhood. It was quite a walk, and I loved it! Later that afternoon, my husband and I took a walk back to town. He gets amazed on every new development with the bridge construction that started last summer. A few pavers, new pavement, railing or equipment are few things that tickle my husband’s interest. It must be that engineer in him! If I can only record his comments and description of the progress (or lack-of)! (Men are definitely different than women. I don’t know of any woman who exhibits enthusiasm with the sight of a newly paved walkway!.) We do have a lovely and quiet town. Whil...

Keep on smiling, even when it seems impossible to smile...

A time to reflect.... Sometimes I wonder when I gaze at the vast blue sky,          why am I here on earth? Sometimes I wonder when I revere the comeliness of the leaf-less trees on a winter day,         why is there anger in people’s heart?         why is there sadness? Sometimes I wonder how marvelous it is,      to have witnessed the sun in its full brightness,      it’s rays lighting up the blue skies,      and clouds form like cottonballs so pure and white; Sometimes I wonder how gorgeous life is as the snow-covered park radiates on a stormy day; Sometimes I wonder how a child’s heart is filled with love and laughter; Sometimes I wonder why loved ones say “good-bye”,     when I’m far away,     where distance separates me...
