pamper thyself...

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

When I'm home, I don't really relax.
I'm always busy doing something...
even when all the kids aren't home..

Thanks to my in-laws who gave me gift certificates for my 45th birthday,
this past week was dedicated (sort of) to pampering Jenjen!

Since my two young adults are either working or vacationing in San Diego,
and my two younger ones are in South Jersey at Camp Grandma-Grandpa…

A manicure-pedicure...
And I don't know how - but what did I do to deserve such luxury?

A day at a spa at Short Hills Hilton’s Spa Chakra was just what the doctor ordered!

While I'm getting my massage, dh is hanging out by the pool!

A complimentary 15 minute foot massage while sipping chamomile tea...
A remedial one-hour massage at Short Hills Hilton’s Spa Chakra!
(Boy! That was awesome!)

A relaxing hour at the pool while sipping ice cold water and

Reading a very interesting thriller-book;

An hour work-out with dh that allowed me to burn just enough calories for a 100-calorie bagel and crème cheese;

Another hour of just relaxing by the outdoor pool…

A few minutes in the sauna…

And headed back in time for a great dinner and Sangria at Cranford’s Garlic Rose (yummy!)

(The above photos where taken with my Verizon env2 cellphone...)

Below are some pictures from the Short Hills Hilton's website...

You can get a massage or spa treatment while your dh enjoys the facilities for a fee.

this is where you get the foot massage...

the indoor pool...

the spa-treatment room...

the fitness center...

Mothers always take care of everyone and don't have enough time for themselves.
Even when shopping for clothes or food, our first priority is the children or the husband - before ourselves!
A few hours here and there just to hang that "DO NOT DISTURB" sign,
Does not have to be fancy, just a few time for yourself - and yours alone!
A short visit for a mani-cure and pedi-cure or even a quiet moment at Barnes and Noble - can be relaxing!
Supportive, generous and loving family members always help make life easier...
A happy and relaxed mom, is a happy and relaxed family!
Just counting my blessings...

When was the last time you pampered yourself?

  10. What you did to deserve such luxury is to be one of the world's best mommies, wife, daughter, sister and friend to all of us who love and know you. What you had was not even close to what you deserve. You deserve all the beauty that life can give you.

  13. Wow, Jen! You are a lucky girl! Good for you. You deserve it. ;0) You are right. Moms don't take the time for themselves that they need.

The last time I pampered myself was by having a girlfriend weekend to a Women of Faith conference in Tampa a couple of weeks ago. No kids, just girl talk and a lot of laughing. That does wonders! ;0)

Sorry I've been MIA lately. The combination of sickness and busyness is not good!
